For every one of us obsessed, there are thousands of casual fans. (Over 1.1 million on Facebook). Most of them are not investing any more cash in a band they saw 30 years ago. My brother calls himself a deadhead (stealie avatar) but I doubt he's heard much of anything beyond the 6 vinyl records he owns, and Dark Star does nothing for him.

I think the giveaways are a smart marketing ploy - Rhino just might rope in some dollars from these casual fans while they are on the website. It's a trip down memory lane for them, not intended for serious collectors - unless they're trying to pique our interest regarding what's in the vault.

yeah but Lazy Lightning? Really? I mean if you're that freakin casual that you'd download Ramble on Rose why wouldn't a package collection or even the original Europe 72 do it for you and leave it at that? I get it and yet I don't
